GENERAL INFORMATION

About Rome - The Host City
All Roads lead to Rome
Throughout the centuries, Rome has had such a deep impact on the world, that, in a way, introducing it almost seems redundant. Visiting Rome means more than simply visiting a city, it means revisiting the entire history of the western world from its early beginnings. With its Coliseum, its timeless forum, its ancient baths and pagan temples, fountains, churches and Michelangelo’s magnificent St. Peter’s basilica, Rome offers a unique opportunity to breathe the atmosphere which once reigned during the great Emperors’ days.
Quite literally, no other city in the world even comes close to Rome’s beauty and artistic prowess. The sunny disposition of Roman dwellers and the city’s exquisite cuisine, make for an all the more incomparable setting.
Today, the IFA Congress provides you with a unique chance to listen to some of the taxation world’s most respected figures, while experiencing Rome’s incomparable charms. You can take it from Fellini: life does not get any sweeter than in the Eternal City.

Access/Security
For security reasons, identification badges are mandatory for Participants and Accompanying Persons and will be required for admission to all sessions, social events and tour programme. Badges and tickets will be checked at entrances to sessions and events. Please do not leave any of your personal belongings unattended during the Congress.

Shopping
Rome’s historical centre is home to a wide array of elegant fashion boutiques, antique stores and delicatessens. Rome’s most popular shopping spots are the areas surrounding the Spanish Steps, Via Condotti, Via Borgognona, Via Frattina, Via della Croce and Via Veneto. Other shopping areas are: Via del Corso, Via del Tritone, Via Nazionale, Via Cola di Rienzo. The city centre abounds also of privately owned artists’ studios and restoration workshops, as well as jewellers’ shops. Galleries can be found almost everywhere in the bordering streets, like Via Margutta and Via dei Coronari, one of the most picturesque streets in Rome, which contains numerous antique dealers.
